We are pleased to announce that we have obtained funding for a VanRaam #EasyRider Compact e-trike, to add to our existing VanRaam #Fun2Go e-trike.
This project is funded by David Skaith, Mayor of York and North Yorkshire and York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority.
Planning fail for the connection to the #CinderTrack at Broomfield estate in #Whitby. Nodded through despite utter lack of info and compliance re: cycling / accessibility https://t.co/gr4IjTunLh
@northyorksc Good news for Tadcaster.
Whitby, on the other hand, has no public conveniences in the bus station (closed yrs ago), is dilapidated, and attracts people "hanging around" ... anything but welcoming.
There are just a few days left to have your say on our budget for 2026 to 2027.
Let us know how you would like us to spend the money we have available at https://t.co/dJCBwq9IBD by Sunday 21 December.
"The town is on borderline non-sustainable."
The latest article of the Whitby Neighbourhood Plan has been released, concerning the amount of housing available in the area.
That's TV spoke with member of @WhitbyCommunity, Andy Jefferson about housing in the area.
@northyorksc#ActiveTravel is noted for being an important driver in health, yet #Whitby district consistently gets no investment in this area, despite high levels of #deprivation. Clearly NYC "coordination" has not reached that area yet ...
@northyorksc Sadly the efforts haven't reached NYC property services who are still intent on selling off #Whitby#GreenSpace in an area with #deprivation and below min levels of open space and poor accessibility. https://t.co/lLfJGlJqlW
⚠️ A171 Spital Bridge junction update.
We will be carrying out testing of the new signals on Monday, 8 December. If all goes to plan, they will be working from the end of Monday.
Until then, please refrain from moving the cones that are closing the end of Larpool Lane. The end of Larpool Lane is closed for safety reasons until the new traffic signals are switched on.
Thank you for your cooperation.
#Whitby#NeighbourhoodPlan is out for public consultation, until 30/01/2026. You can read the plan online or at community venues, and respond online, or on paper forms. Read more on this link https://t.co/uzImfvbRwB

#Whitby NewBridge speed limit to be discussed in a @northyorksc meeting this week, the current 40mph limit is CONTRARY to DfT guidance
"The minimum length of a speed limit should generally be not less than 600m ..." ... that section of New Bridge is 475m.
@CBTransport@ScenicRailBrit Interesting that you mention it. There are only 5 slow trains to #Whitby per day! The rail line is using Victorian era points in places. Prime example of crap public transport in dire need of upgrade.
