is the crossing out of FBC just random markings or does it kinda look like the letter 'S'? i keep noticing random details when rewatching the trailer for art ref
Primer (2004) is the pure, unfiltered version of a time-travel film. No hand-holding, no explanations, just two guys breaking the timeline until it collapses on itself. Still one of the wildest debuts ever.
Alan Wake 2: The Lake House is the most scathing and indignant critique portraying the absurdity of machines and generative AI replacing the creative process.
Slight spoilers for the story: The scientists can’t understand why even a bad writer like Alan Wake can evoke emotions and fame when a room full of automated typewriters that produce LLM style writing seem to only produce content with disastrous, self destructive and dehumanizing consequences.
The Fall (2006) is one of those films cinema keeps rediscovering. It bombed on release, grew into a cult favorite through word of mouth, and then vanished again when it was pulled from streaming and digital purchase. Tarsem’s visual poetry deserved better.
Only announcement that exceeded my expectations.

The opening ten minutes of Star Trek (2009) is still the best thing J.J. Abrams has directed. In one sequence, he delivers scale, sacrifice and a character’s entire legacy before the title even hits. It is blockbuster filmmaking with a beating heart.
watched sinners for the first time a few days ago and this entire 10 minute sequence start to finish might be one of the goosebumps inducing scenes from a film i’ve ever seen
