Many of you have shared your desire for a new skin tone that bridges the gap between our existing Cocoa and Tea shades. While our team of 17 faces significant challenges in expanding our range, we understand the importance of this request. In response, we've collaborated with members of our black community to develop a new shade, "Coffee."

The creation of Coffee involves a detailed process, from preparing pellets for frame injection molding to meticulously fine-tuning the vinyl color. This trial-and-error procedure is anticipated to span several months. We have also sought and received invaluable advice from black members of our community throughout this process, ensuring that the development of Coffee is as inclusive and representative as possible. We're excited to share photos of our first Coffee prototype. Though it's still a work in progress, the project is led with dedication by our team member, Bobbi.

We also want to address concerns regarding our commitment to creating a variety of darker skin tones. Some feedback suggests that by introducing the Coffee shade and phasing out the lighter "Milk" shade, we might be overlooking the need for inclusivity across all skin tones.

Our mission has always been to reflect the diverse experiences of humanity through our products. This commitment extends beyond skin color to include features like vitiligo, birthmarks, acne, cleft lips, freckles, and plus-sized figures, which are often overlooked by other doll manufacturers.

It's important to recognize that esteemed Japanese manufacturers like Volks, Azone, and Obitsu offer a wide selection of dolls with lighter skin tones. Our focus on introducing and prioritizing darker shades is intended to complement these existing options, not to compete with them. We aim to broaden the choices available to consumers, working alongside other manufacturers to ensure that everyone can find a doll that resonates with them personally.

Our dedication to diversity and inclusion is at the heart of everything we do, and we're grateful for your support as we continue to strive for a product line that truly celebrates the rich tapestry of human life.
