Australia had a really terrible flu season in 2019, with 902 deaths. We have a current national 7d average of 71 covid deaths a day. That rate is 28 x worse than flu was. & the same number just took ~12 days. The world is in it's 5th wave. #notflu#notendemic#covid19#auspol
@MarianSmedley@robynbryant33 @afcoory Please understand that vaccination is not the silver bullet here - you can still contract it and become very ill.
@Chrisactevans@smh@MeganGorrey@Rabe9 She applied a mandate on all ministers that if they were investigated they would have to stand aside. She followed in the same vein however we can't have a premier stand aside. We need one to run the state. She had no alternative but to subsequently leave.
@Bob64St@smh We're sitting too high for low daily cases. Places like Brazil with 20k per day have an effective repo rate of 1. What have we done wrong (obviously many variables) ?
@grozerown @niltiac@WakefordJackie@smh 16 people infected. Most live in neighbouring suburbs. They are not all homeless so more households will be impacted. Virus 'R' factor still at 1.3x so great work party goers!
@9NewsSyd@bethan_yeoman Agree but certainly more encouraging news than what is circulating on other fronts. Didn't know media published good news stories π€
@6Medic Red Cross still had stockpiles of funds from the Thai tsunami as they couldn't disperse it quick enough. Then followed by subsequent disasters they have never been in a better position! Best to send help directly to affected communities.
