Where did AI create the most leverage in your projects?
João is our fractional CTO and one of the hosts at AI for Tech Teams. He reveals a bit of the code factory he is building to automate the entire development flow.

By working with several clients in AI transformation, there are some of the biggest mistakes our CTO @jpgbarbosa is seeing:
1. Treating AI as a tool substitution;
2. Focusing on technical aspects over domain knowledge;
3. Neglecting the measurement phase.
What turned AI outputs from generic to useful?
Some key points:
1. Intention: The quality of AI output is primarily determined by a user's ability to clearly convey their specific intention to the AI agent;
2. Methodology: Improving output quality depends on the AI tool being used and the specific techniques employed to guide the agent.
3. Skills: A critical method for improving results is the creation of "skills," which involve constructing a step-by-step framework for the tasks the AI agent is expected to perform.
4. Prompt Engineering: The specific structure and composition of prompts play a vital role in ensuring that the information received is more useful and less generic.
There's a gap between being told your organisation should do more with AI and knowing which problem to tackle first.

Training people on AI is not enough!
We ran our AI for organisations webinar last Wednesday. The session was built around one central argument: that training people on AI is not enough.
From what we see, the organisations that make real progress with AI are the ones that redesign the way they work around AI.
How ready is your company to be redesigned around AI?
AI wrote 100% of the code for our latest feature on a client’s platform.
A cross-platform wallet system where users load funds, manage their balance, and use it to pay for services.
Real money, real users, zero room for error.

For a decade, mobile teams chose cross-platform mainly because building native twice was too expensive.
AI is changing that.
We're building native iOS and Android in parallel, at costs that used to justify cross-platform.
Same speed benefit, without the abstraction overhead.
The tradeoff that drove a decade of decisions no longer holds.

An AI strategy written six months ago is already partly outdated.
The landscape shifts every quarter, which means your operating model needs to shift with it.
Most organisations don't have anyone whose job it is to track that gap.
- Daily triage: 40 minutes recovered every day;
- Pipeline reviews: running themselves;
- Board prep: four hours down to one.
Where we don't use AI: client relationships, judgment calls, the conversations where trust is what's actually being built.
Knowing where the line is tells you where to keep investing in humans, just as knowing where to automate is valuable.
170 hours a year, from one workflow change.
A daily triage that classifies every item so your first real decision happens at 9:05am instead of 9:45am.
Plus five more workflows we run inside Whitesmith every week: pipeline review, board prep, weekly management briefing, and more.
