Gently sliding back on Twitter to acknowledge the team from @CVMP for putting on a stellar conference, bringing together experts in video processing, computer vision, computer graphics, animation and physical simulation. https://t.co/ElPcZ9qHAQ
Talks included sessions by Dr. @ErikReinhard on increasing energy efficiency in image processing, transmission, and display; Dr. Elena Garces of SEDDI on scalable textile digitization; and Aamir Mustafa from University of Cambridge on distilling style from image pairs. @CVMP
Just a gentle reminder on this #IWD2022 to put women at the center of every climate decision.
Without gender equality, a sustainable and more equal future will remain beyond our reach.
Full stop.

The New York Times Climate Hub has been awarded a NYT Publisher's Award in the "Produce the Best Journalism" category. I am so thrilled to see live events being recognized as journalism and am honored for our project and team to be awarded! #nytclimatehub
Can space play an important role in combating climate change? @astro_matthias, an astronaut I interviewed live from the Int'l Space Station & @algore think so. "When we fly around the Earth... I can see the flames and flooding." @wef Full convo here > https://t.co/R9GTn3RmLd 1/3
Inclusion, empathy, and stories that make us human…these were the topics of #YLSummit2022 final keynote discussion between @ChimamandaReal and @Whitney_Rich.
Below are some quotes from Chimamanda that are sticking in my mind:
Wanted to give a special shout-out to someone who I consider a SUPER ⭐️ at the @nytimes and a mentor who pushed me endlessly @Whitney_Rich. You’ve done such amazing work since you got here and had such a huge year with all the events you helped lead. Just giving you some 🌺…
If you had asked me three years ago when I moved to London if I would have worked on one of the most ambitious live events in @nytimes's 170 year history, showcasing the breadth of our climate report, I probably would have called you nuts. https://t.co/ozHGLD81sk
Technology already exists to aid in the process, and I can assure you that there are innovators creating systems so the way that we eat and live are done in more sustainable ways. The money is also there. What we do next, is up for the people, and those in power, to decide.
It can be overwhelming to think about how we can begin to reverse the ways that humans have destabilised the Earth’s rhythm, but I am certain that we have all of the tools necessary to reduce our carbon output and to use nature based solutions to cool the Earth’s temperature.
