Great day with George Fisher on farm as part our @LEAF_Farming journey to Net Zero project. Looking like its a job of digging deeper into the detail. We will be calculating how long a herbal lay needs to be in to counter the oftake and ploughing of the arable crop.

Day 2 – Today I’ll show you more about our cattle enterprise and go through how we manage them throughout the year. We have 140 suckler cows that are a mixture of Shorthorn and Aberdeen Angus. We calve over 6 weeks and are almost done with this years calving – only 4 left to go!

Day 3 – Today I’ll talk you through our new red deer enterprise. We introduced the red deer onto the farm in 2018 after undergoing lots of research and training. The deer enterprise was a chance for me to introduce something I am particularly enthusiastic about onto the farm.

Whitriggs is a family run business. I run the farm in partnership with my parents @WhitriggsRobert and @WhitriggsLesley. My wife @WhitriggsKate also works full time on the farm but is a qualified vet.
