A federal grand jury in Mississippi has indicted Edward James Porter for threats made to Bart Edmiston, Sr. to kill him and the entire Edmiston family. Porter told Bart, Sr. that he was going to cut him into pieces and stuff him in a suitcase.

He also told Bart, Sr. he was going to kill his wife. He said he’d murdered before and was unafraid of the police. Separately, Porter called Bart Edmiston, Jr. and made similar threats to kill his entire family. His messages included copies of the Edmiston’s address and statements that he was on his way. He also couched his threats in plainly racial terms.

The Mississippi Department of Public Safety, Homeland Security and the FBI acted swiftly to apprehend Porter, who was using a Moss Point telephone number from Illinois. Porter has a significant criminal record that includes violent offenses. In addition to the charges he will face in Mississippi, he will face charges in Wyoming for the threats made to Bart, Jr.

This is not the only arrest that has been made for death threats against my clients and is not the only one where a race-based motive was clearly expressed. It is the only one where charging documents have led to confusion and speculation.

When people say things like “if you’re innocent, why do you care what idiots accuse you of on the internet?” Some of those idiots have millions of followers. Some of those followers are unhinged and dangerous. So, the answer is that not only does it have the effect of ruining innocent people’s reputations, but it has the effect of putting people’s lives in danger. The clickbait, fabricated nonsense is going to get an innocent person killed one day.

🚨BREAKING: The U.S. military is preparing for the first execution in more than 60 years — and Army Major Nidal Hasan is on the list.

Hasan carried out the 2009 Fort Hood massacre, killing 13 people (including an unborn child) and wounding more than 30 others while shouting “Allahu Akbar.” He targeted unarmed soldiers at a readiness processing center as they prepared for deployment.

He was convicted of 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted premeditated murder, stripped of his rank, and sentenced to death. He has been on death row at Fort Leavenworth for over a decade and has shown no remorse.

The Army has developed plans (including “Operation Resolute Justice”) to carry out military executions if authorized by the President. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has publicly expressed commitment to seeing Hasan’s death sentence carried out. Hasan’s final appeals have been exhausted.

If approved and carried out, it would mark the first U.S. military execution since 1961.

Thirteen American service members never came home because of Hasan’s jihadist attack on his own fellow soldiers. Justice has been delayed for far too long.

He said he was precluded by the two monopolist food distributors US Foods and Sysco from getting meat from other sources or they would charge them more for all of their other food supplies.
