Out of the 3 ways to vote in California (in person, by mail, by dropbox) only 2 methods have direct traceability. Dropbox votes can easily be manipulated since the only form of traceability is the self-reported signature and date. With a ~30% voter turnout, one has 30 days to start falsifying signatures and backdating from the remaining 70% of potential voters
