@databallr โฆ2/ it creates a false assumption that production (i.e. PTS or TS%) scales linearly with impact. The flaw in that assumption is that opportunity cost is ignored. Brownโs volume redistributes the offense more than it adds to it, and lineup data reflects that idea.

@douglaschu_@automaticnba@NoaDalzell If that hypothesis is accurate then there should still be a more significant signal in 2pt scoring. I havenโt looked into it so maybe that is indeed the case.
@automaticnba@NoaDalzell What makes 3-point rate especially meaningful here? If we only looked at the home vs away impact on 2-pointers, would the disparity be even larger? My guess is that improved travel conditions are the primary driver, which also correlates with injuries ofc.
