URGENT APPEAL
This Christmas we're asking people on benefits to donate £10 per month to help the working families across the UK.

[Trump Girl @TrumpGirlLove]

Odette Sansom.

The Gestapo placed her toenails on the table, one by one, and asked the question again.

She looked at them and said: “I have nothing to say.”

Before the war she was a French housewife in Somerset, raising three daughters. A letter offering photographs of the French coast reached the wrong office. Someone noticed her languages. In November 1942 she entered occupied France as “Lise,” working with the SPINDLE network.

In April 1943 she and Peter Churchill were betrayed and arrested in the Alps. On the way to prison she told the Germans he was her husband and related to Winston Churchill — and that she, not he, led the network. They believed her. He became a hostage. She became the target.

At 84 Avenue Foch they burned her with a red-hot poker and tore out her toenails. She knew names that would have destroyed the network. She gave them none.

Sentenced to death, she said: “Then you will have to make up your mind on what count I am to be executed, because I can only die once.”

At Ravensbrück she endured starvation, solitary confinement, and darkness. Childhood illness had already taught her darkness. She heard Violette Szabo, Denise Bloch, and Lilian Rolfe taken to their deaths. She survived.

In May 1945 commandant Fritz Suhren drove her toward American lines, hoping to bargain with her life. She stepped from the car and told the Americans to arrest him. She later testified. He was executed.

In 1946 she received the George Cross. She accepted it for the women who never came home.

Strangers wrote to her for decades when they were desperate. She answered. “People in trouble
seem to think I am someone worth writing to.”

Odette Sansom died in Surrey in 1995, aged 82. Until she could no longer travel, she returned each Remembrance Day for the SOE women who did not survive.

She called their connection permanent. ❤️

National Lottery binned. Father in Law binned Postcode Lottery. We both joined #VeteransLottery. 3/Vodafone also binned. We now know where our money goes 🇬🇧

Can anyone explain why a march for Palestine in London is acceptable waving other nations flags, yet protesting at Dover is right wing, racist and not the way to make political statements?
And why do these protesters need to get a job @MikeTappTweets when the unwashed don’t?

He had finally passed the Army selection.

Can someone tell me what I’m actually paying for?

My latest council tax bill has arrived. £330 a month.

For what?

We still have to pay extra just to have the garden waste collected.

The roads are knackered, the drains are blocked, and every time it rains the streets flood.

The local town is now devoid of shops because business rates and parking charges have made it almost impossible to trade and expensive for people to visit.

So where is the money going?

Councils spend tax revenue on vanity projects like cycle lanes that might see a bike once a decade and disability parking bays that sit empty most of the time.

Meanwhile the services we actually rely on continue to decline.

We are expected to pay more and more for less and less.

And at the same time we all see public money being spent on people who entered this country illegally and have never contributed.

So I’ll ask again.
What exactly are we paying for?

The whole system is broken.
