4 years on, Who Owns Norfolk has mapped 70% of West Norfolk and is concluding its landownership research. In this old fashioned part of England, just 0.2% of the population (including several Italian counts) owns 50% of the land. Read on for more: https://t.co/F99oWrsygW
Trump has turned the White House into a 24/7 corruption operation. This is a national crisis.
Trump thinks the public will stop paying attention.
So I went to the Senate floor to call his bluff. I told the ENTIRE STORY of his 500 days of corruption.

Should renewables count as defense spending?
A group of military experts thinks so. That's because renewables enhance national security by reducing reliance on foreign oil and gas, making countries more resilient against pricing and supply disruptions

‘Releasing lynx into the wild would be disastrous for farmers 😱’
Usual utter nonsense.
If Britain can’t tolerate lynx, the size of a labrador, why should any people anywhere be expected to tolerate any wild predators?
What message do we send?

Ireland’s leaders not only condone ecocide, they protect and subsidise it. Ireland is now one of the most nature-depleted countries in the world.

BIG NEWS!!!! it is official, there will be a GCSE in Natural History. Feel quite overwhelmed. Maybe these little ones and all other wildlife might have a better future.

https://t.co/BNDVqpE9te. Great news. Slippery response from NFU exactly what you would expect. They don't give a stuff about the water quality of rivers and great guild of life that's been destroyed by agricultural discharges of all sorts. A time of change it's to be hoped.
Beavers legally released into the wild in England for the first time. When politicians see beavers roaming free and the world hasn't fallen in (at least, not because of the beavers), more species reintroductions will follow. They are important & popular. https://t.co/bzSE5SLRxb
Huge win! Government announces plans to open up the Land Registry.
If delivered, will finally reveal more about who owns land in England and Wales.
Read my blog post for more details & how you can write to the Minister to make sure this now happens:

More than a hundred wolves now live in the Netherlands, in more than a dozen packs. Without fuss.
The Netherlands is one of the most densely populated, highly developed and intensively managed countries in the world; as well as being the second largest global exporter of food by dollar value after the U.S.
All these people who say that coexistence with wolves is not possible, and that wolves are a threat to food security, are telling huge porkies.

Yesterday, Westminster reviewed a motion to ban #bottomtrawling in Marine Protected Areas. This fishing practice drags weighted nets, sometimes as large as football fields, on the ocean floor. It damages it and is incompatible with any form of protection. (1/4)
Cowfold Oak update:
The tree had a TPO on it, so the Parish Council had to seek permission to fell it, which was valid for two years & due to expire on 19th January 2025.
As the deadline loomed, local campaigners were determined to stop the destruction of their tree & in an impressive feat, climbers occupied it for a week until the permission to fell expired a few days ago.
The good news is therefore that the tree is safe for now, but the bad news is that it’s likely the Council will apply for a fresh permission to fell. Local campaigners @savecowfoldoaks are calling on @DirectLine (who are demanding the felling) & the Parish Council (who are going to carry it out) to meet with them & discuss the many options that exist to solve the subsidence whilst retaining this wonderful tree. Any help they can be given in their campaign would be much appreciated.
A win for wildlife! 🎉
@NorfolkCC have withdrawn their application for the Norwich Western Link 🥂
We're so glad that the threat this road posed to vital Norfolk habitats has finally been realised, & so grateful for everyone's support throughout this campaign. Viva la bat! 🫶🦇
Love it when these NFU chaps talk about native creatures causing massive damage. 1% of wetlands left plus 1% of meadows with flowers. Gloyphosate in breast milk. Filthy aquatic systems. Damage by beavers compared to the devilment they have inflicted ? Utterly inconsequential.
