Either from the effects of Covid or the mind-numbing environment, I am slipping mentally. It terrifies me that my long struggle to stay alive in here could end with me staring at the tv and not caring.
Almost 10 am. My bunkie's asleep as he is most days. Outside my door on the landing men lope as they do all day every day. Prison was aimless before the pandemic but at least prisoners were involved in some kind of activity. Which is worse, active or inactive pointlessness? ...
Wholeness thinking is love as a spiritual, philosophical, social, political and ethical path. And, in Rumi's words, if you're not willing to gamble everything for love, LEAVE THIS GATHERING. I'm serious.
It's time to begin building a culture of wholeness. If you don't know what that means then ASK THE DAMN QUESTION; of me, of yourself, of your family, and neighbors. If you don't believe in wholeness thinking, then ATTACK it, but stop patting it on the head.
Re: mob in D.C.: Good people MUST abandon our sense of entitlement to a good wrld. The wrld is only as good as WE work to make it. I say wholeness thinking is the tool, but I've failed to convince many of this. If anyone out there has a better tool, please tell me. I'm listening
Often people ask: what can I DO? Well, there is much, but let it begin with us simply taking a stand for wholeness by speaking up, by saying every day something as simple as: Make Wholeness
Thanks to all who have taken the nonviolence challenge. To those who haven't taken it yet, don't underestimate the power of a simple public declaration https://t.co/s05VcaE9Tc #nonviolencechallenge
Nonviolence is to the social environment what "being green" is to the physical environment... it's the next step in our awareness of interconnection, our evolution of eco-consciousness, and our struggle to live in right relationship on earth.
@JoshuaBHoe Upsetting to hear, but weโd rather have realism than false hopes. Not sure why itโs such a stretch to restore good time, but here we are. Thanks for your thoughts.
The depravity and evil of this adminโs race to murder as many people on death row as possible is shocking & inhumane.
We know how our carceral system works. The wealthy + privileged can buy freedom & leniency, the vulnerable are killed.
It must stop. Abolish the death penalty.
If I caged a man for a couple of decades, then strapped him into a chair, invited spectators, and killed him, I would most definitely be eligible for the death penalty.
โWe have to do betterโ means WE have to organize better, strategize better, educate better. We have to build better. We MUST abolish these legal lynchings. The govโt is on a killing spree & we have to charge forward w/ fearlessness in our hearts. This wonโt stop unless WE stop it
Read our op-ed about why People in Prisons and Jails Should Get COVID-19 Vaccines As Early as Possible. You canโt socially distance in prison or jail. People will continue to get sick and die. #SeeThem#CareNotCages https://t.co/g5OfQqHSpD
