Tonight as High Sheriff of Greater Manchester, my Consort Andrew and I joined Cold Hands Warm Hearts distributing food, drink and clothing to people experiencing homelessness in Manchester City centre. A very worthwhile evening with a team of fabulous volunteers. @GMLO_UK

A fantastic evening as High Sheriff. I have had the pleasure of working with a great team - Greater Manchester Police Band Eamonn O'Neal and Tameside Council to stage a concert in aid of Willow Wood Hospice and Alzheimer's Society in Stalybridge. What a great evening it was.

The Queen joined leaders from the civil society and charity sector attending the Ending Violence Against Women and Girls Summit, reflecting Her Majesty’s longstanding commitment to tackling the issue.

The summit aims to bring together organisations working to address gender-based violence to inspire change at a national and local level.

🎤 Her Majesty listened to speeches by Jess Phillips MP, on the target to halve violence against women and girls on a national level, followed by Dame Nicole Jacobs, on best practices to prevent and respond to Domestic Abuse.

An extremely interesting morning as High Sheriff visiting Mustard Tree who work to combat poverty and end homelessness. I have driven past their centre so many times and never imagined just what amazing work was going on inside.

Sixty years on, we remember the 144 people who lost their lives in the Aberfan disaster.

Today, The King and The Queen, with The Prince of Wales, spent time at the Aberfan Memorial Garden and the Aberfan and Merthyr Vale Community Centre to honour their memory.

The Aberfan Memorial Garden stands on the site of Pantglas School, where 109 children and 5 teachers died when the coal tip collapsed onto the village.

As High Sheriff this evening I attended a reception at the Hungarian Consulate marking the 70th anniversary of the Hungarian revolution. A lovely speech by the Lord-Lieutenant mentioning her family connections and we heard from some of those who made new lives here. @GMLO_UK
