@andrewwoodroffe 2/2 training on the bike in the heat doesn’t give the full benefit as airflow over the body, even in summer, massively helps cooling via sweat evaporation. At slower speeds going up a climb it’s a different story.
@andrewwoodroffe 1/2 people fall into the trap of thinking because they live/train somewhere hot they are automatically heat training. People tend to look for the easiest or least painful options. This means they go out early or late to avoid the heat.
@Cyclingbottle @lucasaganronald Don’t forget that TotalEnergies started a sponsorship with Ineos. Not allowed to be a headline sponsor this year but who knows in 2026…..
@ediz1975 @atomwa77en I’m a cyclist and feel in this case the guy was being a bit of a twat. Racing at that speed in the cycle lane and not thinking the driver might turn in were an error in judgment. My approach is to believe all drivers are idiots and will do the unexpected around cyclists.
@andrewwoodroffe Heard something recently that it’s very easy to draft if you use the Garmin Varia radar. Will detect the referee’s moto and give enough warning for you to sit up.
@TheStroBro@Timheming Have never signed up for a race based on which pros are going to be racing. Also given you need to sign up for many races 6 months in advance, most pros haven’t even decided by then.
