@WazzFi good call Wazz, id also say they should (if possible) test the actual application(s) they intend to use on several different vendor client devices before purchasing... the differences from the advertised βperformanceβ can sometimes be an eye opener.
A trip down site survey memory lane today due to lockdown boredom... pulled out the ol Cisco Clean Air AP and software.... wasnt that long ago that this was how we did Spec An... and its still actually quite capable, I recall integration with Chanalyser was also pretty good...
@TamoSoft Pleasure, we are long time supporters. Wish we didnt have so much invested in @ekahau products as we would change as soon as the lock down is finished. Keep up the awesome work πππ
@TamoSoft Good to see @TamoSoft getting traction, we have been very impressed so far. If we werenβt tied ti @ekahau through the Sidekick investments, we probably would have already changed. Also, love that this is a kiwi company - highly recommended πππ
@WazzFi@wirednot@ekahau@iBwave another thing that annoys me with @ekahau ... we are long time users, probably over 10 years, back to the days of the PCMCIA based NIC300, do you think there is any annual subscription and price recognition of this loyal support from @ekahau? The anwser is no in our experience.
@KellyPBurroughs @WazzFi@wirednot@ekahau@iBwave MacOs support, a wide range of adaptors, positive and responsive customer support, fair and open pricing... TBH, we have three sidekicks, and yep they are fantastic, but they dont do that much more than our old NIC300s, Chanalyzers and Cisco Clean Air APs...
@WazzFi@AdventureMatt@wirednot@ekahau@iBwave With you here bro! The attitude from @ekahau is what turned us away from Air Magnet back in the day... lets start a mass trial of the alternatives, and report back here for all wireless pros benefit?
@WazzFi@TheWLAN@wirednot@ekahau we were Airmagnet users waaaaay back in the day... it was awful. The day it BSOD on our engineers and we lost/corrupted a stack of presaved data was the end of the line for us and AM. They will have a lot of work to do, and will need very sharp pricing to get us to consider them.
