Your Wichita West Firefighters are on scene of a vehicle vs building crash in the 8500 block of Seymour Hwy.

The building is vacant and the occupants of the vehicle were able to exit the vehicle on their own. The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Texas DPS

SMOKE and FLAME IN AREA of FM-369/Haws Rd. A large, deep pit with trash burning approx 15 yards off road. Fire is contained to the pit, and is being monitored regularly by dept officials. Smoke and flame may be visible but no current danger of the fire breaking containment.

Your Wichita West Firefighters assisted the Iowa Park Volunteer Fire Department on a structure fire, shortly after midnight this morning.

On patient of the feline variety was treated for smoke inhalation.

We will be conducting a prescribed burn behind our new fire station at 7952 Seymour Hwy. There will be smoke in the area for the next few hours. If you believe you see a fire that may not be from this burn, do not hesitate to call 911.

Your Wichita West Firefighters were called to the 3700 block of S.H. 258 for a grassfire. Upon arrival, 2 camper trailers were on fire, and a small area of grass around the trailer was burning. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Wichita County Sheriff’s Office.

BURN BAN IN EFFECT:

Effective immediately, a burn ban is in place for unincorporated areas of Wichita County. The burn ban is in effect for 90 days. This limits any outdoor burning to only welders and agricultural burns, in accordance with the TCEQ.

Your Wichita West Firefighters responded to a structure fire in the 7000 Block of Seymour Hwy. The fire started in the backyard, and spread to the adjacent structure. Fire in the structure was limited to approximately 10% of the attic. The fire is under investigation by the WCSO
