I'm in the middle of doing rewrites for the 2nd edition of Making Peace with Your Plate. It's due to be released in January 2020. So much has changed...
And yet, not enough... #ADDICTION#MentalHealthAwareness#endstigma
DAY 6. GIVE AS MUCH ATTENTION TO YOUR MENTAL HEALTH AS YOU DO YOUR PHYSICAL
We get to commit at a personal, familial and societal level to equate mental fitness with physical fitness! #MIAW19#Mentalhealth
DAY 5. END THE SILENCE
Our stories remind people of our common experience and that we are making it through challenges and living rich, fulfilling lives.

PRACTICE THE POWER OF CONNECTION.
Everything feels better with connection because "connection is the currency to wellness."
If you are struggling today, know you are not alone.
Wide Wonder sees you.
Wide Wonder hears you.
And Wide Wonder honors you.
DAY 3. PLACE PERSON BEFORE ILLNESS.
We remind people that there’s nothing “wrong” with those who have mental injury or addiction; they are not broken people who need to be fixed; rather, they are wounded or injured human beings who get to be healed.

DAY 2. LEARN A NEW LANGUAGE
The words we use to communicate with those we love are born of love, compassion, and empathy, so let’s avoid using stigmatizing words like "junkie," "drug abuser," and “addict”, “head case”, “dangerous” in everyday conversations.
For #MIAW19 we'll share some advocacy tools #7days7ways
DAY 1: ASK FOR HELP.
Whether you ask for help for a loved one, a community member, or yourself (especially yourself) you can consider yourself a mental health advocate.
