When you ask esp older Tamils in CMB why they aren’t joining protests, they speak of memories of large crowds of angry men, of riots & fear of riots for yrs, of trauma/fear these memories trigger. They speak of feelings of insecurity & knowing they’ll receive no state protection.

Some of those most at risk in Afghanistan are the 250 women judges serving in the country who, as the @thebarcouncil and @TheLawSociety have highlighted, are in particular danger. They have put their lives on the line to protect the rule of law and must not be abandoned.
