Germany is planning to expand its anti-discrimination law to include sexual identity. “All people are equal before the law” in the Basic Law — the German constitution — currently covers gender, race, language, and origin. The amendment aims to strengthen protections for LGBTQ+ individuals. Statistics show anti-LGBTQ+ violence is on the rise.
