The no-gig arc has entered its PDF phase.
"Worked in crypto" now reads:
Social media, content creation, community support, security education and live hosting.
I break technical stuff down and make it actionable. In English and German.
Crypto/fintech teams - let's talk.
@sighohwhy Social media is one thing, but even then with the Ethos agent for example you can save tweets to the blockchain.
If your company has been in any kind of news, or your C people did interviews, podcasts etc - good luck.
Wait a minute.
Mark Karpelès spent days helping worried Ledger customers assess their devices for tampering, publicly and for free.
When he raises questions about the handling of earlier implant warnings, the Ledger's CEO brings up Mt. Gox?
This is not how you rebuild trust.
I should have said that your track record as CEO makes that you lack credibility in judging such events. Your experience of total failure doesn't make you an expert in judging Ledger's situation. And also... You are no white knight. I stand by that. We can talk next week as planned, I don't mind a strong conversation, I am available.
@distantpine That's fair, it's a point to make individually 100%. Still, I do not think this has to be mixed into the discussion about Ledger handling the warnings.
@masterjan_ Look it up! Was the biggest Bitcoin exchange at some point and then went bankrupt after having security incidents. That's what Pascal is referring to because Mark was the CEO back then.
@nilraka@octal Haha while I agree, we also can't deflect from the core issue here which is personally attacking people that have been voluntarily helping customers of your brand on the timeline.
@MauxFaux Agreed, the deflection because Mark had his own failures with Mt. Gox was just completly out of place and answers 0 questions about Ledger's handling.
@exploitkit6969 Talk about Mt. Gox all you want.
What does Mark's history have to do with Ledger's handling of hardware implants found?
His past doesn't invalidate his findings or make them less legitimate because of his past.
Discuss both without deflecting with one from the other.
Wait a minute.

@Soul_Eater_43 Especially when trust is already at stake. I think this represents a big flaw in the security industry.
Independent people stepping up to help users should be appreciated, not discouraged. Whitehats are struggling to get bounties, too. If an exploit happens, then everyone cares
@distantpine Okay that's some serious accusations here. Tell me which reports do you think have been fabricated and what evidence do you have that supports them being made up? Because Mark has examined devices and we do have public records of implants on the timeline.
@Rektormoon I haven't met or talked to him before, so I can not judge his personality or attitude.
In this particular conversation I think we can pretty much all agree that the frustration directed towards Mark is not the right thing to do because he was the one helping out anyway.
