There are two ways to give an AI agent your wallet.
You can hand over the keys, or you can hand over a permission.
With Ledger Agent Intent, your agent can propose whatever it likes. Nothing moves until you approve it on your Ledger signer, and your keys stay in hardware the whole time.
Permissions, not possession.
It is important to note that to date, all confirmed fund losses connected to this drain incident involve devices sold through a limited number of resellers.
While it's great see people being proactive, please send questions about your device directly through official Ledger Support (https://t.co/9uEZq3CHQj). That way, our team can verify details one-on-one.
If you haven't seen it yet, here's the latest update. https://t.co/D3xzGuKfcV
An update from @DonjonLedger regarding Germany 🔽
Following reports from one person in Germany, our team inspected devices from retail and distributor stock across the country, including units from the stores named. None showed any sign of tampering. No loss of funds related to implants has been reported anywhere in Europe.
We have not yet been able to examine the devices shown online. We invite their owner to send them to our security team so we can analyze them and share our findings.
Hello Vanessa, to date, all confirmed cases involve devices sold through the Southeast Asia reseller CryptoBilis, and the volume of impacted devices is limited. Our systems and direct sales channels remain unaffected.
As threats evolve, we’re strengthening our distribution and anti-tampering processes and reminding our authorized resellers and distributors to source products only through authorized channels. We strongly advise users not to purchase from unauthorized resellers.
If you bought from CryptoBilis, do not initialize unused devices. If already set up, move to a new seed on a device from Ledger.
Wherever you bought your device, you can inspect it by following this tutorial: https://t.co/Bh9DHQulIv
or contact Ledger Support, available 24/7, through our official channels: https://t.co/9uEZq3CHQj
Always remember: Rely only on official Ledger channels. Ledger will never call you, DM you, or ask for your 24-word recovery phrase. If someone does, it’s a scam.
Stay cautious and Clear Sign transactions whenever possible.
Update from Ledger Donjon on the CryptoBilis investigation 🔽
@DonjonLedger is investigating Ledger signers sold by CryptoBilis, a reseller in Southeast Asia, that contained an unauthorized hardware implant. Ledger confirmed this on October 10th for one affected user's signer. All confirmed fund losses tied to the incident disclosed on October 9th involve signers sold through CryptoBilis. We have not verified a drain linked to a signer bought elsewhere. CryptoBilis has confirmed it stopped selling Ledger signers while the investigation continues.
Based on the Donjon's analysis of the attack, the implant sits inside the enclosure and reads the data shown on the screen. During setup, the signer displays the 24-word recovery phrase. When the implant detects these screens, its microcontroller decodes the words and transmits them over LTE using a provisioned eSIM. The implant is a separate component. It does not modify the Secure Element or the Ledger operating system, and it does not alter transactions or signatures.
The Donjon will analyze the signers it receives and will share more as the investigation continues.
We have not confirmed the total number of affected users or the total value lost. Figures circulating online come from third parties and Ledger has not fully verified them. If your funds were drained and you have not contacted us, please do so through Ledger Support so we can include your case. We are also reviewing reports of implants in other signers and locations. We will continue to share information as the investigation progresses. Rest assured the Ledger team is going above and beyond to leave no stone unturned to investigate this situation to the strongest possible outcome.
If you bought a Ledger signer from CryptoBilis and have not set it up, do not set it up and contact Ledger Support. If you have set it up, transfer your assets promptly to a new signer with a new recovery phrase. Do not enter or restore any recovery phrase on a signer bought from CryptoBilis. Never enter your recovery phrase into a website, app or form.
If you lost funds or hold a tampered signer, contact Ledger Support at https://t.co/QzukOZdEzq and file a report with local law enforcement. Do not send the signer to anyone before speaking with Ledger Support or local law enforcement. If you lost funds, coordinate with law enforcement before opening the signer. Researchers and others with relevant information can write to [email protected].
If you did not buy from CryptoBilis and want to inspect the inside of your signer, the guide is at https://t.co/Bh9DHQulIv. Use caution and make sure your recovery phrase is backed up first, because opening a signer can damage it.
Ledger will never call you, message you directly, or ask for your 24-word recovery phrase. We will update this post when we verify new information.
Hi @cryptohdaily, just to clarify - Ledger Atom™ is not a smartphone. It is a data-only mobile device: it connects to 4G/5G networks for data only and does not support cellular voice calls, including VoLTE, VoNR, VoWIFI or SMS. You therefore cannot use Ledger Atom™ to make or receive calls over the mobile network. You also cannot use it to call emergency services (such as 112 or 911), even with a SIM or eSIM installed and within network coverage.
The cellular connection carries data. That data connection is what lets you make voice or video calls via third party apps, lets secure apps, signer functionalities, and AI agents work away from Wi-Fi®.

Hi @godwithtruth, in today's online world, it's hard to prove who, or what is real. AI-generated photos & videos, deepfakes and cloned voices can impersonate the people you trust, and AI agents cannot tell who actually authorized an action. Proof of You™ is a signature that cannot be faked: it ensures a real human was present when authorizing a given action. It requires physical human interaction with a secure, isolated screen and confirmation tied to a hardware chip. Proof of You™ is applied to actions that route through Ledger OS™.
Agents propose. Humans approve. Ledger signers enforce. Your agent can work 24/7 in the background, monitoring the market and suggesting portfolio optimizations, shopping online, preparing payments, and more. You review and approve or reject. The Secure Screen, Clear Signing, and Transaction Check help mitigate scams and detect threats.
No money moves without your physical approval. You make the rules.

Connected devices are convenient, but the same software that runs your apps also controls your approval screen. Malware can show you one thing while you approve another.
Ledger Atom™ puts the security of a Ledger signer and the convenience of your everyday apps in one device. Here’s how Secure Mode makes that work 🧵
Check the Secure Bar at the top of the screen to see which mode you’re in. SECURE or STANDARD. Only Ledger OS™ controls it.
