@lovefeltmsg however, in doing so you will lose quality as lighting up dark parts of a photo will also highlight any noise that's going on in that area... There's only so much you can do in post processing to save an image like that... and if it's in jpeg I fear for the worst...

Lucky to get to Iceland for a few days after finishing my exams. The birding was incredible and managed four lifers: Harlequin Duck, Barrow's Goldeneye, Gyrfalcon and Brunnich's Guillemot.
