Congrats @Rssmith218 - our 2nd place winner for the
@ESArestore early career publication award! Rachel studies the loss and recovery dynamics of coastal foundation species to better understand how to restore and manage coasts. Check out the winning paper: https://t.co/UEwlPBtLTd
Fellow #ESA2023 attendees! Hope to see you at my talks: Tues 8/8 at 1:15pm on GxE interactions of marsh grasses migrating with sea-level rise https://t.co/QSwBQkeosT and Thurs 8/10 12pm on making field work safer for trans ecologists! https://t.co/GB7MOmpXWE
2+ years taking the same route to my lab, speaking to the same person each time. Today they gave me a heads up that I’ll be getting a work order to dump their waste….once I led the convo towards them realizing I’m a PI, there was no apology…just backtracking. #BlackInSTEM 🤷🏾♂️
Almost everybody answers this incorrectly in my opinion. They give a single answer like in math instead of a range of answers like in statistics.
That’s why statistical thinking is better than math thinking when it comes to real life problems.
I made a post for my Instagram about graduate research fellowships in marine science (and other fields) and thought I might as well post here too since it’s scholarship season! Hopefully it’s helpful to someone 🌊
Join us in congratulating and welcoming the NEW DR. Burgess (@murryloub), our stellar Field Inclusive co-founder who defended her dissertation today!! 🙌🏽
She’s on her way to doing great things, and is paving the way for others! Congratulations Murry. 🎊
The air quality wasn’t great for our quarterly Water Quality Sampling at the @vcrlter yesterday, but there were some pretty stellar crews out on the bays!
