Modern economics encourages people to constantly cuck themselves, delaying procreation in favor of capitalizing on the spending that comes with sexual exploration, competition, and the necessary loneliness caused from it.
And as for not exploring things more, it’s good I didn’t randomly push myself to do so. And in reality, there was enough sexual tension in the air between mutually respectful flirtations, and what I’m sure now was my obvious male gaze. Sometimes that’s plenty enough fun
Beautiful women used to ask me out. For some reason, it never felt worth exploring more deeply. Once, it was two girls dressed in the same cute outfit, out for dinner and drinks, with only me. More quality time than any random date.
Makes more sense after thinking about it more. Life for us was work sleep repeat. I was the cute and safe guy they could count on for a chill evening. Better than rotting away at home. And me being as nice and patient as I was, made for a great night for everyone involved
@DelusionPosting Realized this mentality is real when girls I thought were close friends rushed to be with me after a break up, throwing their flirt game as fast as they could, sending nudes within a couple nights of me becoming single. Crazy thing is they were all “close friends” with my then ex
@JebraFaushay Either the bar is too high, or she isn’t willing to see good in men. Also, just because people (men and women) have done something bad in their past doesn’t mean they’re forever bad people. Part of growing up is learning from your mistakes.
@masebond_ This happened to me at a family hangout after covid. Prob because I hadn’t experienced real eye contact in such a long time. Also life felt like a dead end. General anxiety and unhappiness. Now, my fiancé lives with me, and we have no trouble socializing.
Following up, I turned down the job. Many don’t get the chance to build their own company and future. I have that opportunity. While a regular paycheck would be nice, the upside of building my own company is too precious to throw away. Certainly not worth exchanging for a 9 to 5
Knowing you’ve secured a regular and comfortable paycheck really changes your view on life. A sense of urgency slips away. As long as you maintain the comfortable income, life will be good.
@IAmLilRico Crazy to think this is the norm for a lot of people. Frustrated, arguing adults who can’t work together to make the best of their situation for their children. Yet, the fact that people still grow up to be functioning adults despite this kind of upbringing shows, life finds a way
It isn’t until you’ve had some time to find your humanity again that you can begin living and giving again. Sadly, not everyone is allowed to find their humanity. Spending too much time away from it creates fragility. And eventually, a break occurs. Those people deserve sympathy.
