Statement from the “Fakhivtsi” unit, Wild Division, Falcon Force Airborne, 82nd Air Assault Brigade, with our brothers-in-arms from the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces, the Ukrainian World Congress, and support from volunteer partners in Sweden and Japan.

Kateryna “Meow” Troyan was a track and field athlete.
She lived for sport, believed in discipline and moving forward.

She had a future.

Her life was taken by war.

She was killed by russia.

Her name was written on the helmet of Ukrainian Olympian Vladyslav Heraskevych to honor athletes who were killed defending Ukraine or became victims of this war.

For this, he was disqualified.

We, soldiers of the “Fakhivtsi” unit of Wild Division, believe this decision is unjust.

Banning remembrance means erasing the fallen a second time.

It means pretending the war does not exist.

It means choosing silence where there must be memory.

Kateryna Troyan is not a political statement.

She was a person. An athlete. A Ukrainian.

A victim of Russia’s war.

Remembrance is not a protest.
It is human dignity.

We fight so that our names are not forgotten in silence.

Memory is not a crime.
Silence is.
