I will keep harping on 20,000 acres because there is no way they are keeping close tabs on their livestock to know for certain if they’re losing calves to wolf depredation and not anything else that usually causes calf mortality
I can empathize with ranchers dealing with predator conflict but if you have 20,000 acres of land smack in the middle of elk/bighorn/deer habitat with a self admitted dump used by outfitters on your land then I’m really not all that forgiving when you illegally shoot a wolf
A rancher in Eagle County said one of her employees shot and killed a female wolf in the King Mountain Pack this past March. Here is what we know: https://t.co/LhcRCwGgdl
So much was written to bitch and moan about how expensive it is to lose cattle and pay legal fees but no mention of what was done to deter predation on your 20,000 acres as “one of the largest” cattle producers in the state. Probably would have been cheaper to handle ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The poor baby has had this injury for over a week. Thankfully he now has pain meds and an operation scheduled for next Tuesday morning. Such a brave little guy

Munchie has a fracture in his tibia/fibula and is going in to the vet this Friday to look at potential amputation. He and his buddy are approximately 2 and incredibly healthy otherwise so fingers crossed we can rehabilitate and rehome
Had a dream last night my wife and I stumbled across what was most likely the 1st jaguar to have been seen in Colorado. We took photos, was super excited, then I woke up....genuinely devastating
Some days I get a call at work about two rabbits needing a home and one has a break in the leg that the team doesn’t have the resources or training for so it’s either I adopt or they euthanize…..so anyway meet Mocha & Munchie

If you think about it, white male politician populations have recovered well beyond sustainable levels, and it is past time for the federal government to delist them and give states the management tools they need to protect both people and wildlife.
