Glimpse: Sri Shankara Giri Parikrama

With the Anugraha of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji and as per the divine directions of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Mahaswamiji, Naada Shankara – Music Workshop was held at the Punyabhumi of Sringeri for performing artists and senior students of music, offering them an opportunity to deepen their repertoire through the intensive study of compositions of Bhagavatpada Sri Adi Shankara and the revered Guru Parampara.

Organised by Sangeeta Sharada, the workshop was guided by distinguished mentors Dr. R. S. Nanda Kumar Ji and Dr. Srikantam Nagendra Shastri Ji.

Reviving Kashmir’s Vedic and Shastraic Heritage

With the benign blessings of the Jagadguru Shankaracharyas, Dakshinamnaya Sringeri Sharada Peetham, special programs such as Veda Sabha, Shastrartha Sabha and Parayanas of Saptashati, Devi Bhagavata, Prasthana Traya Bhashya, and Shankara Digvijaya are being held at Sri Mata Kheer Bhavani Temple in Tikker, Kupwara on June 28 and 29, 2026.

This special event, featuring highly reputed scholars from across Bharat representing the ten Shakhas of the four Vedas and the four Shastras of Vedanta, Mimamsa, Nyaya, and Vyakarana, is being held in collaboration with the Mata Kheer Bhawani Temple Committee, continuing the great tradition of Kashmir as a land of profound learning and scriptural enquiry.

It may be noted that the ancient practice of Shastrartha, once a vibrant feature of Kashmir’s intellectual and spiritual tradition, was revived after several centuries during the inaugural Varshika Abhisheka at Sri Sharada Mandir, Teetwal, in 2024.

Carrying this blessed legacy forward, the scholars will also gather at Sri Sharada Mandir, Teetwal, on June 30, 2026, from 8:30 AM onwards, to conduct Varshika Abhisheka to Mata Sri Sharada Teetwal and offer Veda Parayana and Shastra Seva at the sacred abode of Sri Shardamba on the 3rd anniversary of the historic Pratishtha of Sri Sharada at Teetwal. In collaboration with the Save Sharada Committee, the 3rd Varshika Abhisheka at Teetwal will take place on the Chaandramana NijaJyeshtha Krishna Pratipat.

In accordance with the ancient Agamic traditions, and with the benign blessings of the Jagadguru Shankaracharyas, Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham, Sringeri, in collaboration with the Save Sharada Committee, is presently conducting the annual celebrations connected with the 3rd Varshika Abhisheka of the historic Sri Sharada Pratishtha at Teetwal.
