Why? Zero awareness or what?
Buddh International Circuit is not being gifted by the Government. It is part of the debt-ridden Jaypee/Jaiprakash asset resolution process, where lenders preferred Adani’s bid due to higher upfront payment certainty. The portfolio reportedly includes several assets, including BIC; not just a ₹6,000 crore standalone “circuit sale.”
The concern is valid, but the comparison is a bit simplistic. One day’s temperature in Delhi/Nagpur vs Dubai/Doha doesn’t prove Indian cities are worse than deserts overall. Heatwaves are driven by climate, geography and weather patterns too. But yes, poor urban planning, loss of green cover, concrete-heavy expansion and weak heat preparedness have made Indian cities far less livable. So it’s not only climate change, and not only the current government either; it’s decades of planning failure across multiple levels of governance.

History. 🎞️
Pep is absolutely a legend and a genius, no doubt. But “greatest Premier League manager ever” is still Sir Alex Ferguson for me.
Pep built an incredible City side with elite football and ruthless consistency, but Sir Alex built multiple great teams across different eras, adapted to every tactical shift, dominated for over two decades, and did it before this level of financial/security structure existed.
Pep deserves his flowers, but the Premier League benchmark is still Ferguson.
Classy from Pep, but let’s be honest; Sir Alex didn’t just build a team, he built an era.
City may now be respected as “neighbours”, but the benchmark in this country is still Ferguson’s longevity, dominance, rebuilds and legacy.
That “noisy neighbours” line will always belong to football history.
