Saturday June 6, 2026, from 9:00 A.M. to Noon is another workday at the Walnut Grove Laura Ingalls Wilder Pageant.
We are looking for volunteers. Show up and we will find a job to fit your abilities
The 2026 Walnut Grove Laura Ingalls Wilder Pageant Ingalls actors bring a history of past roles and refined craft that will elevate their performances. Tyler as Charles-8 yrs, Jennie as Caroline-7 yrs,
Sarah as Mary- 3 yrs, Raelynn as Laura- 3 yrs and
Ellie as Carrie- 1 year.
During the Walnut Grove Laura Ingalls Wilder Pageant, the cast is instructed to get to know your character and your "family". This in an effort to get the cast and crew the mindset that they are no longer in 2026 but in the 1870's so our audiences may have the best experience.
June 1st is the first practice, and it starts at 6:30 p.m. The cast will get their costumes, get in their family groups and family pictures will be taken. Erin did note she would be at the Walnut Grove Laura Ingalls Wilder Pageant site at 6:00 p.m. for early costume selections.
Next Monday we will have our first practice. The cast picks out costumes and Erin & Bill will give pep talks. It will be exciting as old friends meet again and new friendships are formed. The talent returning is incredible, we’re excited to see what everyone brings to the show.

The "Dream" and the beginning of the Walnut Grove Laura Ingalls Wilder pageant as told in the 1978 Program by Tom Farber. The pageant first written to be told through the eyes of Caroline Ingalls. The script has evolved over the years and is now told by Laura Ingalls Wilder.
Saturday workday at the Walnut Grove Laura Ingalls Wilder Pageant. Steve, Bill and Rick installed the sink in the women's restroom. Rick and Bill cleared grapevines from the waterway. Lori cleaned the frame to be painted for the new set. Rick and Lori stained fence boards.
Reminder: Tomorrow May 16th is another workday at the Walnut Grove Laura Ingalls Wilder Pageant. We will start at 9:00 A.M. until noon.
There is much work to be done yet. Repairing the Oleson Store set, painting, caulking, fence straightening, and always cleaning to do.
The Walnut grove Laura Ingalls Wilder Pageant gave out $3000.00 in scholarships to graduating seniors from our production. The recipients were Madison Alexander, Konsondra Duerksen, Caledon Lessman, Fred Plaetz, Jada Schmidt. Congratulations! Your dedication is truly appreciated!

Jennie painted in the new restrooms, Michael, David and Beatrice fixed up the torches and sorted discarded wood, Rick and Lori replaced the soap and paper towel dispensers in the backstage lady's restroom. Lucas and Chris worked on patching up Oleon's Store. This is a short list.

Saturday May 2nd was a workday at the Pageant Site. Volunteers: Stephanie, Jennie, Bill, Erin, Timothy, Riley, and Steve . They cleaned up brush and installed the ceiling for the ladies restroom. Another workday is planned Saturday May 9th from 9A.M. until noon. Thank you workers
The cast list for the Walnut Grove Laura Ingalls Wilder Pageant July 10-11, July 17-18 & July 24-25th production has been announced. There are many returning long playing actors and actresses and also some new faces which we welcome to our family. "Break A Leg" 2026 cast & crew!
The Wilder Pageant Committee met April 27th. The Village Fair gave an update. Pageant Singers update: they now have 6 performers. Scholarships: We had many applications this year, the Pageant Committee gave out a total of $3000.00. The 50th committee also gave their report.
Saturday April 2nd from 8:00a.m. to 11:00 a.m. we are having a workday at the Walnut Laura Ingalls Wilder Pageant site. We are painting. If you have some time and like to paint, or if you don't like to but are willing, just show up at the site. We provide the paint and brushes.
Saturday April 25th was a workday at the Walnut Grove Laura Ingalls Wilder Pageant site. The great crew of workers were Chris, Lucas, Josh, Erin, Jennie, Bill, Julie, Daniel, Rick & Lori. It was a brisk wet morning, and everyone worked so efficiently much work was completed.
Plum thickets are once again in bloom along Plum Creek. In Walnut Grove Laura Ingalls Wilder Pageant in part one of the trilogies "Faith in the Dream" Caroline sends the girls to gather the plums. Hopefully there will be plums this year; we will make some plum jam....stay tuned.
