@ReutersWorld When inflation hits highs we haven't seen since 2022, what would one expect? I personally would like my money to carry its value more proportional to my income, but that hasn't been the case in over half a decade now.
Most formation tools assume you already know how to structure a startup. That's backwards. The founder who needs the most help gets handed a blank C-corp and sent on their way. Building for the first-timer, not the repeat founder.
Private industry progress! I know it pains many to see change, but this is how we reach for the stars and take our generations "Leap for Mankind!"
I don't often agree with @elonmusk politics, but I absolutely believe that humanity's future is saving this planet while we explore the rest!
First-time founders rarely lose on the idea. They lose on the dozen small structural calls nobody warned them about. The real edge was always having someone to ask who had done it once before. Most people just never had that person.
Jensen warned of the same thing comparing it to when radiology would be made obsolete when computers started analyzing scans. In reality it created a greater need because radiology became so much cheaper we started using it much more frequently, while the radiology field professionals declined!
Talent is evenly distributed. The room is not. The kid in Palo Alto grew up around people who'd already done it. The kid three hours from the nearest airport had the same idea and no one to ask. That gap was never about ability. It's about who's in the room.
This is why we do it. Not to just be like Elon, but to be our own version and vision of what this life is and can be. Most just stop when it gets hard, the majority of the remaining stop when it gets comfortable, and then the few that can't stop, won't stop, and the journey IS the passion.
And just like that the deal is dead. There is no real incentive for the IRGC to let go until it gets some form of concession that it can use to stabilize the regime and maintain control. It feels so obvious from the outside and until the IRGC and the regime can claim a "win" over the US, it will not come to the table. They have more power each day this continues and isolates @realDonaldTrump and @netanyahu as we approach mid-terms.
Most startup advice assumes you already know what you don't know. First-time founders don't get advice. They get a blank incorporation form and a guess. Closing that gap is the entire opportunity.
Today I'm publishing a new essay, Policy on the AI Exponential. AI is progressing extremely fastโmuch faster than the policy process was built to handle. The essay lays out where I think the technology is now, and the action needed to close the gap: https://t.co/Lh6PWae178
You can absolutely see it in the code writing side. Its abilities in complexity is really interesting and exciting. It took the piece of my build that was seemingly a "by-product" that I just asked it to keep an eye on (when Opus) and realized its potential as a standalone was greater than the original build itself! And it was right!
"Intelligence will cocoon the world" I cant think of a better way to describe exactly what will happen with AI. People thought electricity was going to kill everyone at the turn of the century, now billions of people would die WITHOUT it. Intelligence isnt life, but it is the future regardless of how you may feel about it now.
"Intelligence will cocoon the world"
Sounds crazy, but when compared with electricity "Grid" that cocoons the world and then the internet, its hard to see any other scenario but that.... Founders, this is the future, how will you capture your piece?
Jensen Huang is a titan and a teacher. He recently sat down with me to explain his vision of the future of technology and humanity. Heโs calm, clear, and very funny. We touched on many topics, ranging from the $20T or more AI economy in five layers to changes in labor for the AI age. Here are some of my main takeaways:
1) The world is moving from retrieval to generation
2) Generation offers intelligence customized to the individual
3) Nvidia is making the "generators" of intelligence
4) We've seen this kind of revolution at least three times before with energy (Generators), Telecommunications (vacuum tubes / transistors?), and now intelligence (GPUs)
5) There is a five-layer cake of participation in this many-many trillion dollar revolution: Energy, Chips, Infra, Models, and Applications.
6) There are many ways to participate in this revolution, and everyone has a role
7) We'll be pushed to dream up new problems to solve with this unprecedented intelligence
8) In this new future, it's not just having the answer, it's having the right questions
8) The right questions will drive us toward our individual and collective human purpose
9) We move from the carpenters to the architects
I believe this is the realistic future. Thanks to Jensen and the entire @nvidia team for the conversation and for letting us share!
