Hey Mark, cardiac anesthesiologist here in a small physician-owned private practice. Big fan of how you keep it real on healthcare and are striving to fix it for the betterment of all.
Medicare anesthesia reimbursement rates have been frozen for decades (~$20.50/unit in 2026, real value down >20% since 2000). Medicare is now a huge share of cases as the population grows older but only pays ~1/3 of commercial rates.
This is quietly killing independent anesthesia groups and forcing consolidation into hospitals/PE. This reduces competition, limits choices, and ultimately drives higher long-term healthcare costs for everyone. Raising + indexing the conversion factor to the Medicare Economic Index would help fix it.
@elonmusk i saw your video with them explaining the situation. i heard that they had potential solutions. did you ever record a video of them explaining their ideas?
@aribindi@IdiotTracker the real question is why do we let a few people in positions of power jeopardize the lives of billions. life is great and they shouldnโt have the power to take it away from us
