Today and the next couple days I’ll be going out on campus to collect more sounds associated with our current project! Looking forward to exploring new areas and being creative to capture the best sound possible #LivingBuilding#1102archsound
As the semester is winding down, I’m really looking forward to working on and completing the Final Portfolio! It will be interesting to look back at all the creative work we have done this semester. #1102archsound
Speaking of sign language, in reference to the Living Building, what do y’all think will be the best way to incorporate and make sure deaf people have an opportunity to use and benefit from the Kendeda Building #1102archsound
QW11: when reading poems or stories now compared to the start of the year, my mindset has changed from solely trying to understand the story to focusing on sounds, equity (who’s involved / affected), and creating a scene in my head. #1102archsound
I found the discussion in class about the Rodent man and the two girls really interesting. The use of sign language and different forms of communication made talking about the story really informative. Do y’all think the Rodent man knows / uses sign language? #1102archsound#Rio
During practice at our golf facility, I either listen to music when I practice or like today, put my phone on silent and enjoy the wind swirling and birds chirping on this beautiful sunny morning. #1102archsound
For my @dictionarysound entry, at first I was confused on where I should go to find a sound similar to that which will be in the Living Building but now after some class time and clarification I look forward to recording the best sound I can. #1102archsound
I became really interested in recording sounds over spring break. I actually enjoyed looking for cool places to record sounds while playing in a golf tournament in South Carolina #1102archsound
Q9: Learning about sound has had an affect on me as I notice more and more the sounds of nature and just everyday life that surrounds me. This will help me record a better sound for our current project. #1102archsound
(2/2) my brother was born legally blind. He has lived his entire life not knowing what, but imagining what the world sees and looks like around him; listening for every movement around him. How can we as a community help make life more enjoyable for the disabled? #1102archsound
Q9: Living a life like Daniel takes an extreme amount of patience, positivity, and passion. Even though it comes off as Daniel lives a pretty normal life, it is extremely difficult to be disabled. This one hits home for me because #1102archsound (1/2)
Walking back from Team workouts this morning, construction of the Living Building is in full effect. Immediately noticed the sound of constant drills hammering into the ground and bulldozers dumbing rock and dirt into dump trucks #1102archsound
Thinking of how well the Living Building will use natural rain water from days like today where almost 1/3rd of an inch of rain will fall. What are the architectural aspects will use rainwater? Who / what does this affect? #1102archsound#rain#LivingBuilding
Today I noticed more than previous days the construction that is being done to the Library. I noticed the glass windows being installed at the top, while the loud hammering of concrete was more prevalent today than normal. #1102archsound#librarylife
QW8: I wish I liked listening to my voice in recording. I feel like I like the sound of my voice when I’m talking but when it is recorded and I listen to it I absolutely hate it. Furthermore, everyone has a unique voice and not one person or the other is the same #1102archsound
Really looking forward to watching the construction of the Living Building. I think it would be awesome to put a GoPro or some type of camera in a tree or on a wall of a building to capture a time-lapse of the construction #LivingBuildingChallenge#1102archsound
After listening to the Google podcast and then discussing it in class this past week, I never realized how much one company can have such an impact on an entire city and community. #1102archsound#google
What effect does sound have on ones emotion? Today I woke up to the sound of a steady rain, not birds chirping. I immediately knew it was going to be a dreary day and would not be going outside #1102archsound
