I'm very sensitive about my photography. Hence why I have so much sitting on my hard drive and not posted. Working to change that this year, this month, this week and today.
@norseforce88@JeffBiesinger I get where your perspective could be coming from. I was just peeling back the curtain as to where the mass outrage is coming from via the Black perspective. Appreciate you keeping it respectful!
@CryptoZaddy89@JeffBiesinger And that's the problem. Worrying about only your family has left us without empathy as a community and a nation. Sad state of affairs.
@norseforce88@JeffBiesinger Because Allen, Black women have been called men for far too long. They masculinize black women for having broad shoulders or any sort of muscle. If they're not being called Men, they are being called mamies or apes (Serena williams). It gets old.
For the black people still on this horrid app, please do not let the racist garbage you see on here have any lasting effect on your self perception. Don't engage, don't internalize. This has become "their" app. We will all have to make a choice to leave or not, soon enough.
For Context: In January 2016, the Obama administration flew $1.7 billion in physical cash to Tehran.
This money was not a gift or a ransom payment. It was the settlement of a long standing financial dispute between Tehran and the American government. While Iran was still a vassal state to the U.S. and Britain under the Shah, it deposited $400m dollars into a U.S. Department of Defense trust fund to purchase military equipment.
After the 1979 Revolution and the subsequent hostage crisis, diplomatic ties were severed and the U.S. canceled the undelivered military orders.
Iran filed a claim for the return of these funds at the Iran-United States Claims Tribunal in The Hague. This international body was established in 1981 to resolve financial disputes between the two nations arising from the revolution.
By 2016, the case had been pending for decades. Iran was demanding up to 10 billion dollars in compensation to account for compounded interest.
As the case was nearing the final stages in the Tribunal, the Obama administration feared that Iran would be awarded an even larger amount.
They decided it would be wiser to settle the case outside of court. Even the 1.7 billion was celebrated by the U.S. as a victory. Had Washington refused to settle in 2016, the final cost determined by the Tribunal's adjudication could have been significantly higher.
The U.S. government explained that the payment had to be made in cash because the effectiveness of U.S. and international sanctions had effectively isolated Iran from the international banking system, making standard electronic transfers impossible.
Finally, there is no credible international, human rights, or media reporting that substantiates a death toll of 42,000 protesters in a recent crackdown. This figure is a complete fabrication with no basis in reality.
So @Uber really offered me a βfreeβ Uber One trial just to try charging me $25+ for a ride I take every day for $10β$12.
Meanwhile my Wife, standing RIGHT NEXT TO ME, got the same exact ride for $10 on her app.
How is this not bait-and-switch pricing?
@Uber_Support explain this
Uber one is such a scam when combined with Uber's dynamic pricing model. It's actually disgusting how I'll be charged double my friends for the same ride from the same place.
This new Kanye sounds like he's been on his meds. It's very tame and harmonious. Not VERY dynamic but still quite good. It's a controlled storm in a jar.
The problem is the US government has no ability to change the governments in Iran, Venezuela and Cuba.
Look at Venezuela, we captured Maduro and stole their oil, there is no regime change, Maduroβs VP is now in charge and the US pulled out.
Look at the Middle East, we spent $2 trillion dollars and 20 years to replace the Taliban with the Taliban.
Fast forward 6 months and all of these governments will be the same, only more hardened and angry at the US
The US has never in its entire history launched an air campaign that resulted in a successful regime change, what makes anyone think the US could pull off 3 let alone 1 regime change within the next 6 months?
Shallow understanding of how the world works.
