You're leaving 10's or potentially 100's of thousands of $$$ on the table if your email marketing sucks.
Do these 5 things and watch email sales become 50% of your revenue in 2025...
1. Automate everything
The industry average open rate for one-off ecom newsletters is just above 20%
The average for welcome emails is 80%
Sell on the first email, but don't seem desperate.
Outside of welcome sequences, automate the following for a similar effect:
- Post-purchase thank you email
- "We miss you" email
- Repeat buyer email
- Return to cart
2. Keep subject lines short and concise
No one wants to read a subject line past 50 characters.
Keep it short and treat your subject line like a YouTube thumbnail.
Ask yourself - "what would make me want to open this email?"
A few good examples:
- Open for a gift 🎁
- You're invited!
- [First name], you won't believe this...
Keep them on edge and watch open rates skyrocket.
3. Optimize for clicks
Have a new product or offer you want to launch?
The best place to put it is above the fold (before the reader has to scroll to see more).
Your hero image and CTA is everything if you want to push for conversions.
You can still talk about other things in the newsletter, but your best bet at converting an email subscriber into a customer is to put the offer in front of their face out the gate.
4. Don't discredit free value
When you provide value (whether it's free or paid), you begin to build trust with the potential customer.
Let's use the fitness niche, for example.
If you sell a product/service that aims to get your customer or client in shape, you could give away the following for free value:
- Create and send fitness plans for different foals
- Insight into a diet for every fitness goal
- Why drinking ___ amount of water is a must for your health
All of these build credibility for your brand and your product, and your customers will thank you for that.
5. Compress your images
No email is great without some good design, am I right?
Only if it doesn't take a year to load.
Your email takes longer to load in with the bigger the image file sizes you have.
Not only that, but in some cases this could decrease your deliverability rate - increasing your chance of landing in spam.
That's a BIG no no in the email world.
Use a free image compressing site like WeCompress to compress images down to smaller file sizes so your well-designed email gets into primary inboxes consistently.

Day 2 of building Patient Track in public.
Today I added a CSV upload option for practice owners and marketing directors to upload pre-exisiting lists that correctly correlates to the acquisition source.
This will save directors hours when they get started in Patient Track.
Time to throw my hat in the ring.
This is the VERY early Alpha for my app, Patient Track.
I work in healthcare marketing, and a massive pain point I have is tracking our new patient acquisition.
Where/who are they coming from? Where is our money best spent? What referring providers need to be re-engaged?
Patient Track aims to answer all of these questions.

Rebranded my YT Channel in early November and started posting again for the first time in 9 months.
Been posting 1-2 times a week with incredibly valuable content, yet YT seems to be punishing me for this rebrand?
I’m used to getting at least 60-100 views in the first hour… now I’m lucky to break 20.
What I’ve learned is that YT isn’t actually punishing me, it’s just re-learning who my audience is.
What interests have changed?
Do they still enjoy the same content?
Whose lookalike audience can this relate to?
A lot has changed in 9 months.
The lesson I’m learning is patience and persistence will beat motivation.
This week was hard, I didn’t want to film, edit, post, none of it.
The payoff may not seem worth it - but just the simple fact I was able to bang this video out against my own internal feelings is huge for me.
It’ll payoff, just wait.
