@jpappone It reminds me of the ocon/max incident in Brazil where ocon had nothing to lose but max didnโt want to back off. Honestly looking at that season with hindsight if that didnโt include those two drivers I donโt know if there would be a penalty at the end of it.
This is going as expected for a rain heavy #NASCARChicago. Some drivers real cautious and others just doing it for Dale. Rough conditions will make this an interesting 100 laps. #nascar
Drivers to their cars for #NASCARChicago. Drivers that havenโt been on a wet track this weekend. That donโt know where the rubber may be to avoid and on tires they havenโt tried yet here. This will be entertaining. #NASCAR
@RaceCanada_ca@jpappone A few feet of grass or something there may do the trick. leaves the paved run off to slow cars and bikes when needed. Otherwise a reprofile of the corner may be the only option. How ever if teams were properly informed of track limits during the race we may not be here either.
@RaceCanada_ca@jpappone I doubt we see any changes. There is no reason for the track to foot the bill when the current system works well for other series that run here. Unless FIA or F1 take some of the costs I suspect it will just be a change in enforcement.
@RaceCanada_ca Still 10 times it was triggered and no one noticed. itโs still unacceptable for the FIA however not surprised. They also have a entire team back home with a rather large support staff. Feel like they should be able to manage something partially automated.
@timhauraney They should put grass at the edge and leave the rest as pavement for the other series. How ever as the the race went on and the penalties went out drivers started to stay between the lines more. Could really be an issue of years of not enforcing it.
@PHortonF1 The closest race being Canada where he has a bird in his brake duck. Wonder how much that cost him and if there was more in the car that weekend that was left on the table.
@FastestPitStop All the drivers started to clean up their lines when the warnings started to go out. Clearly drivers can manage to stay within the white lines when they want to. This knee jerk reaction is unnecessary. Some drivers were more disciplined and benefited in the end.
We should have a camera in the room for these similar to the driver cool down room. May as well double down on the silly drama. #AustrianGP#F1#Formula1

@QuickStopF1 There was a conversation about brakes over the radio that included a suggestion of brake magic along with corners it may have helped. Had his radio up for large portion of the race. Hamiltonโs comments about there being no specific issue just the car is bad causing the struggles.
