Back in 2016 @NuclearWilson and I wrote about the insanity of "battlefield" nukes and the idea that you can fight a "little" nuclear war.
Paging Vlad: it's still a terrible, no-good, very bad idea. #UkraineRussiaWar#UkraineWar

Approx. 100 IAF fighter jets struck and eliminated thousands of Hezbollah rocket launcher barrels, aimed for immediate fire toward northern and central Israel.
More than 40 Hezbollah launch areas were struck.
We will do whatever is needed to defend our civilians and the State of Israel.
🚀🦅 "Ukrainians work 24/7. Engineers promised long-range drones - they did. 1,500 km, we already have such products. And now rocket drones are appearing. There will be other missiles, very powerful and long-range," - Zelensky
‼️ This is very important. Friends, please repost and tag those who can make it happen, not just in the US but in all NATO countries that have pilots trained to fly the F-16s.
As you probably know, there are currently not enough F-16 pilots to fly the aircraft provided to Ukraine by our Allies. Training of pilots and crew takes a long time.
During their visit to Kyiv this week, US Senators Richard Blumenthal and Lindsey Graham shared that Ukraine is looking for retired NATO F-16 pilots:
"Additionally, President Zelensky told us both that he would be looking to supplement his Air Force by establishing a program to enlist retired NATO F-16 fighter pilots. We support this effort. Ukraine is already fielding units of freedom fighters on the ground, and this volunteer force should be replicated in the air," Senator Blumenthal posted on his website.
"My message is this: we need to be fully engaged," Senator Graham added.
"Here’s what I want to see in 2024: I’m going to bring this up. I’m asking [U.S.] President [Joe] Biden, before you leave office, to make sure this offer is extended," he said.
F-16 pilots, including Dan Hampton, have said previously they would be willing to do that.
This would significantly increase Ukrainian capabilities and enhance our air defense potential.
How can we make this happen?

The U.S. is considering providing Ukraine with long-range Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missiles (JASSM), which can be launched from fighter jets at a distance of 370 kilometers. The Pentagon is working to ensure that Ukrainian fighter jets, including the newly delivered F-16s, can use these missiles, which have a 450-kilogram warhead.

1/ As Ukrainian forces advance in the Kursk region, law and order in frontline Russian-held areas is reported to have collapsed completely. "Rampant looting" is said have broken out – being done by the Russians themselves – while local residents say they feel abandoned. ⬇️
The Russian MoD claims the “destruction of 945 Ukrainian military personnel and 102 armoured vehicles” in the Kursk zone since the beginning of hostilities. Meanwhile, Gerasimov stated the other day that the Ukrainian Armed Forces group that crossed the border amounted to just under 1,000 people. So, everyone has already been killed? Then who controls the occupied territory in Kursk?
🚨🇺🇲🇳🇴 BREAKING: The US State Department has approved a possible Foreign Military Sale to Norway of 16 M142 HIMARS; 15 M30A2 GMLRS-AW Pods; 15 M31A2 GMLRS-U Pods; 100 M57 ATACMS; and associated equipment & services, for an estimated cost of $580 million.
The prime contractor would be Lockheed Martin; offset agreements are expected to be negotiated.
The description and dollar value are for the highest estimated quantity and dollar value based on initial requirements. Actual dollar value will be lower depending on final requirements, budget authority, and signed sales agreement(s), if and when concluded.
Europe should give much more equipment to Ukraine.
Do you realise that there is no mystical Russian reserve! They are currently all in Ukraine bogged down in brutal fighting.

One thing I wanted to add to the discussion about this Kursk offensive: to get this many troops, vehicles and hardware into position and to have complete surprise required the greatest OpSec.
Ukrainian Intelligence Services pulled a big one this week.
Never underestimate Ukraine.
This country, against everyone's expectations, changed the course of history in 2022, and it continues blowing minds and kicking asses -- but it always needs your support to defeat the aggressor, as this is right and just.
There's always hope and a way to go if we don't give up.
