Why are they so desperate to make the 🏝️Chagos deal, at any cost?

Who benefits from the deal?

Mauritius gets £billions from the UK leasing Diego Garcia.

Mauritius hopes to earn far more by mining the mineral resources on the seabed of the France-sized Chagos marine zone.

The British lawyers 👨‍⚖️ who worked on Project Chagos got £millions and could make many £millions more if the deal goes through.

🇨🇳China, 🇮🇳India, and others could benefit massively from fishing the currently protected marine zone, and mining the rare earth elements REEs and minerals thought to be worth trillions on the Chagos Archipelago's seabed.

China and India will significantly increase their military and commercial leverage in a region vital to Western Security.

The deal is being sold as securing the strategically important joint UK/US 🪖military base on Diego Garcia.

The deal does🚨NOT secure the base. It does the opposite.

The deal operationally hobbles the base, and increases the dangers to the British and American military personnel, and the civilians who work there, and in the wider Central Indian Ocean region.

Diego Garcia's remoteness made it easy to defend in the past. This deal leaves the base horribly vulnerable to the growing threats posed by the new longer-range missiles, and more sophisticated and lethal drones.

When Keir Starmer, Lord Hermer and Vijay Rangarajan, the Director General at the FCDO negotiated the deal, it was fully understood that the outer islands of the Chagos Archipelago were by far the best locations to deploy early warning, and air-defense systems, to protect the main base from missile and drone attacks.
Yet, inexplicitly and recklessly they decided to only lease Diego Garcia.

And¥ Burnham, the droves of civil servants in both Number 10s, and all the Labour MPs know the rotten and deceptive Chagos deal increases the dangers to the lives of the British service personnel, and our NATO allies personnel, in the strategically important Central Indian Ocean region.

To double down and keep pushing the deal with that knowledge is utterly shameful.

Mauritius will control the France-sized airspace above the Chagos Archipelago if the deal goes through.
In April this year, Mauritius denied the Taiwanese president's plane permission to fly in its airspace enroute to Africa at China's request.

Mauritius being a signatory of the African Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone Treaty, together with several clauses in the Chagos deal, significantly limit and impact military operations on Diego Garcia.

Then there's the bewildering betrayal of the Chagossian people who overwhelmingly wish their homeland to remain British.

Is self-determination for the Chagossians the hidden threat to who owns the rights to the potentially vast mineral wealth in the Chagos Archipelago's seabed the reason for the desperation to make the deal with Mauritius?

Have promises been made to certain countries or to other 🕵️entities with great power that can't be broken without the most serious of☠️consequences?

Why are they so desperate to make the Chagos deal, at any cost, and who benefits?

The plot thickens regarding the recent Koran recital inside a Catholic church in Belgium. As I reported (link below), the Arabic passage the muezzin chose to chant was dedicated to condemning idolatry and idol worship — a curious choice for a Muslim to pick while inside a Catholic church full of statues, crosses, and images, all of which are, of course, idolatry to Muslims.
Turns out that church leaders had screened and approved this Koran passage beforehand (link below).
No doubt, for them, condemning idolatry and idol worship is perfectly okay. After all, as Christians — even as Catholic Christians — they do not see themselves as idol worshippers.
Fine. But are they that oblivious to the fact that Islam sees them — indeed, sees all Christians — as idol worshippers?
Yes, Muslim apologists and goons of all sorts like to insist that Islam categorizes Christians as "people of the book," not as polytheists.
What they don't tell you is that the absolute worst form of idolatry (shirk) in Islam is the association of someone or something else with God (Allah). And Islam makes unequivocally clear that belief in the Trinity is absolutely idolatry — meaning even image-eschewing Protestants are idolaters according to Islam.
Both Catholic and Protestant "leaders" should know this before approving of Koran recitals absolutely meant to degrade them inside their own church.

People constantly ask me "How could you have such a strong Jewish heritage and yet you are an 'atheist'."

Let me explain yet again. I'm an atheist in the sense that I do not believe that the Lord of the Universe cares about my lighting the Shabbat candles at 4:21 pm but heaven forbid it happens at 4:23 pm. I'm an atheist in the sense that I do not internalize all of the Old Testament stories as literal truths. I'm an atheist in that when a religious fact contradicts a fundamental scientific tenet, I side with the latter. BUT, I'm open to the grand cosmological and spiritual reality that extends beyond us. I'm wedded to a shared historical, spiritual, ethnic, cultural, and social identity that goes back nearly 6,000 years.

Almost EVERY single well-known Jew that you could think of was an "atheist" based on the latter explanation. Hence, you'd be hard-pressed to find someone more wedded to their Jewish heritage whilst at the same time not worrying too deeply about the consumption of shrimp.

As an evolutionary behavioral scientist, I fully comprehend that religiosity is part of the evolved repertoire of the human condition. Hence, I'm cognizant of the benefits and at times costs that our impulse to believe has garnered.

Think of me as someone akin to Spinoza when it comes to this issue. Cheers.

So it looks like the government is going to try and effectively remove older vehicles from the road.

They've created a sneaky consultation on this huge change with an end date of only the 6th of September.

They want to have a yearly emissions check on every car and motorcycle on the road AS WELL as your MOT.

If you pass the MOT but then go to your emissions check, if the vehicle doesn't emit exactly the same emissions as when it was built the car will be banned from any use on the road even if it passed its MOT emissions.

This will effectively destroy a majority of the car industry as car tuning and modification will stop you being able to drive your car.

This is targeting all vehicle, cars, motorbikes, trikes, kit cars etc.
So far they are just targeting cars after 2001 but they want to use it on every vehicle on the road targeting mot & tax exempt (historic) vehicles.

They've purposely not given this consultation much time, so please go to the bottom of this page, tell them you do not want any of this from the government and share the consultation for others to do the same.

Only possible way to stop this would be to get the results of this consultation to be a resounding NO! The whole survey needs to be completed - don’t skip to the end as they try and nudge you to do.
