NEW: While other singers drop F bombs and virtue signal about ICE, Jelly Roll praises Jesus Christ at the Grammys.
“I know they're gonna try to kick me off here, so just let me try to get this out.”
“First of all, Jesus, I hear you and I'm listening, Lord. I am listening.”
“I want to tell y'all right now, Jesus is for everybody. Jesus is not owned by one political party. Jesus is not owned by no music label. Jesus is Jesus and anybody, everybody can have a relationship with him…”
We’re long overdue for a tactical pause. Leaders at all levels need to assess the current situation for what it is, not what they want it to be. Take the temperature & rhetoric down, allow for a reset, de-escalate, adjust tactics, realign with the core mission - keeping us safe.
Entering today…
Only 12 hitters had ever hit 3 homers in a postseason game.
Only 26 pitchers had ever recorded 10+ strikeouts, 2 or less hits and no runs in a postseason start.
Shohei Ohtani just did both in the same game.
My late wife Rhonda with an MIT engineering degree used to say, “what they’re doing in DC isn’t 3D chess, they’re chewing on the checkers and arguing which tastes better, red or black.”
Outnumbered at least 6 to 1, the 1st Minnesota Volunteer Infantry suffered 82% casualties when they heroically charged headlong into enemy forces to shore up a gap in Union lines during the Battle of Gettysburg on this date in 1863.
The role these brave Minnesotans played in preserving the United States of America cannot be overstated.
General Winfield Scott Hancock said that "no soldiers on any field, in this or any other country ever displayed grander heroism," and insisted that "there is no more gallant deed recorded in history."
In a speech in Cannon Falls, MN on the Fourth of July 1928, President Calvin Coolidge said these men's heroism that day entitled them to the rank of "saviors of their country."
Think about THAT next time you see a Confederate symbol displayed on Minnesota soil.
The next day, the survivors from the 1st Minnesota helped repel Pickett's Charge and lost another 17 killed and wounded.
Minnesota is in possession of a blood-stained, bullet-pierced Virginia battle flag captured July 3rd.
Virginia has been asking for it back for over 100 years.
Governor Jesse Ventura's response at the @WhiteHouse in 2000: “Why? I mean, we won. … We took it. That makes it our heritage.”
Just this weekend Trump: announced a trade deal with China, brokered an in person meeting between Ukraine and Russia, helped stop a potential war between India and Pakistan, announced an end to big pharma US profiteering, & got the final American hostage released by Hamas.
Say what you want about Texas HS Football, Indiana HS Hoops, or Iowa HS Wrestling... but nothing compares to the Minnesota High School Hockey tournament.
It's a statewide holiday which began earlier this morning. It's broadcast all across the state. People (both students and adults) with no skin in the game call in sick to attend 4 days of elite level hockey. Many participants go on to become businessman, lawyers, teachers, doctors, and a plethora of other things...while others go on to become professionals and Olympians.
Seniors chasing one final memory and creating a legacy to freshmen making a name for themselves and laying the foundation for the rest of their careers. All with one goal... represent the logo on the front of their sweater. It's beautiful. It's competitive sport in its purest form.
I'd imagine the student sections are already pushing the limits which makes me so dang proud. So excited to continue watching elite level play, elite hockey hair, and elite cellys.
Good luck to all the teams, and THANK YOU for the entertainment.
