The passing of Syed Asad Jafri has left me speechless. His lectures guided me through my darkest moments, moments when I thought I was lost in terms of religion and imaan. May Allah bless him and keep his family strong. Truly a huge loss to the community.

it’s the fact that right after i read, watch, and hear of the innumerable suffering in gaza/palestine and show my support virtually via phone, i can easily return to a life of safety in the comfort of my own home and sleep in a warm bed. while whole palestinian families are being torn apart, taken hostage, unknowingly alive or dead, having no choice but to rest their exhausted, traumatized selves on the very same rubble that lie the lifeless bodies of their own civilians. let alone breathe the very same air that is putrid with ash, smoke, and toxic gases from the bombardment of air strikes that killed those civilians. they are currently living in a repeated cycle with no escape nor remedy as their own medical services, hospitals, food/water, electricity, and communications have been shut down. it’s not a matter of differences in religion but in shared humanity. the LEAST we can do is be a voice for these innocent lives by bringing awareness, protests, and donations to halt the merciless genocide of INNOCENT people, young and old.
