Adim is looking for a freelance 2d animator to create short animated content for socials etc. Reach out to me if interested. I can't share exactly what we're working on, so I'll post this fun animation I did for Geoff Wheeler back in the time of pencils and paper.
We are putting the spotlight on another one of our stellar mentors, @WilliamGroebe ! Will is familiar to many of us as the Art Director at Adim, working diligently with all of our members to bring our imaginations to life with beautiful, customized pieces of art. He has also worked on countless incredible projects such as Free Guy, Bullet Train, Mythic Quest, and more. Will is a self-described extrovert, finding joy in life and in people. His proudest accomplishments involve maintaining strong, loving relationships with his family and extending this joy to others wherever he can.
Throughout his experience in the industry, Will has always made sure to value people first. In his work, Will is most proud of moments where he has been able to stand up for his team members and support their ability to live a healthy life both within and outside of the workplace. From his own work experiences where he has felt his and his colleagues' efforts were disrespected, he strives to defend a deeper sense of humanity in his work environments. He will never back down when it comes to protecting his family, and luckily enough, he finds family everywhere.
Will attributes his fiery personality and self-assuredness to his long-time favorite character, Calvin from Calving and Hobbes. The pure id that Calvin embodies taught Will to believe that anything is possible and to never doubt a crazy idea because magic does exist. This belief was solidified for him as a teenager when was introduced to his neighbor who would unknowingly become his mentor, the artist Iain McCaig. The fated sense of this meeting inspired Will to never miss an opportunity to connect with someone, as they may have more influence on your life than you could ever imagine. This search for connection is why Will tells stories, as he believes they are the best sources to bring people together, build and strengthen bonds, and remind us of our humanity.
“As humans, we are communal creatures, storytellers, and story lovers. Ever since the first campfire.”
Thank you Will, for treating us like family, and for showing us the magic in our lives!
Looking back on 2022 I realized I worked on 12 projects released last year. Craziness. It's good to love what you do. My job is fun. Come on in, the water's fine.
Analia and I rocked the Black Adam world premiere in NYC last night! The Rock brings it! Finally met director Jaume Collet-Serra in person having worked over Zoom. Also met Phil Boutte and Mike Uwandi, both amazing artists. What a joy to celebrate our hard work together.
