“The highest form of peace is having no desire to be seen, validated or understood by anyone.”
- Epictetus
True inner peace comes from releasing the need to be accepted, validated, or completely understood by other people. When you no longer depend on outside approval, you gain greater control over your own happiness and emotional well-being. Allowing the opinions of others to determine how you feel can make your sense of worth dependent on things that are ultimately beyond your control.
Instead, focusing on your own values, character, and actions allows you to separate yourself from outside judgment and negativity. This sense of detachment can create lasting freedom because your self-worth comes from within rather than from the constantly changing opinions and perceptions of others.
Without faith, each person might feel alone and become suspicious of others, seeing them as strangers and enemies. By grace, however, we are brothers and sisters who can live in harmony: meeting one another, forgiving one another and listening to one another in the Lord. #Angelus https://t.co/oa0Br6r4BO
@Patrickwebb Nobody has mentioned the mob in these comments. The Kennedys (RFK went after the mob fiercly as AG) were killed by LBJ using mafia hitmen.
