I’m incredibly sad to hear about Dikembe’s passing. I treasure the fact that I got to know him and travel with him and call him my friend! Dikembe was a great ambassador for Africa and for basketball, and his warmth, big heart, generosity of purse and spirit, and zest for life were contagious and inspiring. He is deeply missed! Condolences to his wife Rose and his family! May this giant rest in perfect peace!

NBA Global Ambassador and Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer Dikembe Mutombo passed away today at the age of 58 from brain cancer. He was surrounded by his family.

BWB campers had the opportunity to learn fundamental skills on the court from several NBA elite coaches and players. However, the whole week was really about how basketball can be used as a channel for self-realization and instill a sense of teamwork and community. #BWBAfrica
