Ontario food banks have penned a letter to Premier Doug Ford calling for relief to renters. They say the high cost of rent is the primary reason more than 1 million Ontarians rely on food banks & they’re “terrified” of Bill 60, which will make it easier to evict tenants.
BREAKING: Ontario college workers are fighting back to save the public college system and defend a future of learning and supports for students. Join the line, and together we can help save public education from a privatized system where Ford's friends benefit! #onpoli
For her years of service and dedication to our union, #ETFOAM2025 delegates gave a standing ovation to outgoing ETFO president Karen Brown. In 2009, she was elected to the ETFO provincial Executive. She was elected Vice-President in 2015, First Vice-President in 2017, and President in 2021. #onpoli #onted
There’s been a dramatic rise in lunchroom supervisors & volunteers teaching students in Toronto’s classrooms, with the TDSB using non-teachers 51,000 times last year. Teachers blame cuts to education funding: “schools are falling apart & teachers are leaving the profession.”
Sen. Warnock in Atlanta: "I want you to hear the tragic irony of a man guilty of sexual assault saying he's going to do something for women whether they like it or not. America, pay attention. That's the language of a predator. And we don’t need a predator in the White House."

More Ontario school boards in deficit, using reserves: Ministry documents. This is what happens when the Ford government continues to shortchange #onted public education! https://t.co/lUT6ClbEcK #onpoli
Yesterday, Premier Doug Ford made disparaging remarks about teachers. Unfortunately, this is not the first time the Premier @fordnation or other members of the Ford government have shared harmful rhetoric about teachers. This pattern of disrespect is deeply troubling and must end.
Such generalizations not only undermine the hard work and dedication of teachers across our province, but also perpetuate a damaging narrative that fails to recognize the critical role teachers play in supporting student success.
Rather than resorting to divisive rhetoric, I urge leaders to engage in constructive dialogue with educators. Our teachers deserve respect and support, not over-the-top bluster that leads to the unjustified vilification of teachers across Ontario.
At #ETFOAM2024@MaritStiles tells educators - you deserve better and students deserve better. If Ford wants to call an early election than bring it on! We need one year less or a year and a half less of this regressive government. #onpoli#ondp
I heard on the radio that there are 30,000 qualified educators in Ontario who are choosing NOT to work in schools.
There isn’t a teacher shortage.
There’s a shortage of educators willing to put up with the abysmal conditions created by @Sflecce.
