We spent on the D after having a horrible year. We could have spent big on QB but Defense likely suffers. The other QBs we could have gotten were unproven. Why pay for a unproven guy when you are paying for a high ceiling QB. One you believe has a very bright future.

Seen a lot of people talk about the offense being “vanilla” and that it hasn’t been good in years like everyone forgot about last season. Every offense looks vanilla when the QB doesn’t know what he’s doing and also is running for his life. Heupel didn’t forget offense. Nobody is talking about this if Faizon hits his open WRs when he did have time. The offense itself isn’t the problem. Not having a backup plan at QB for Joey and keeping Elarbee is the problem.

Yes you take this season every time. He is a TRUE freshman QB. Most folks (fan base included) had us going 7-5 /8-4 until they saw the kid play and then ramped expectations up. It takes at least 1-2 years for a QB to develop in the Power 4.

AC is decent not a 1st to 2nd round talent. Lacks in pass coverage even pre injury. He will look better next year with more athletic pairings next to him. Him and Telander play to similar to pair well together.
