I spoke with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev @presidentaz. I congratulated the President and the entire Azerbaijani people on the agreements reached with Armenia, with the assistance of President Trump, for the sake of lasting peace and reliable security in the South Caucasus region. The world has responded very positively to the trilateral meeting in Washington. We hope everything will work.

I informed the President about our contacts with partners. Everyone is equally focused on a real end to the war and effective diplomacy. We discussed communication with the United States, European countries, and the key principles that can bring peace closer. I am grateful for the support of our people and statehood. It is important that the joint efforts of the world ultimately compel Russia to stop its hostilities and aggression.

We also discussed our energy cooperation with Azerbaijan. Significant achievements have been made. We agreed that we will not stop there and will continue working to expand our capabilities. I informed about Russian strikes on our energy facilities. Ukraine considers this a deliberate attempt by Russia to block the energy routes that ensure energy independence for us and other European countries. We are doing everything to protect our country and our people.

Right now in Zaporizhzhia, our first responders, medics, police officers are working to help after a strike by Russian bombs. Air-dropped bombs on the city, on residential buildings, on the bus station, on one of the clinics. Unfortunately, there are casualties.

Today, along the entire front line, in frontline communities, and in border towns and villages, the Russians once again continued to take lives. No deadlines, no expectations work on them – they do not want to stop the killings. The only thing they are looking for is a way to kill Ukraine.

We clearly understand the threats. All our partners just as clearly understand the threats. Everyone sees that there has been no real step from Russia toward peace, no action on the ground or in the air that could save lives.

That is why sanctions are needed, pressure is needed. Strength is needed – of the United States, of Europe, of all nations in the world that want peace and stability in international relations. If Russia does not want to stop the war, then its economy must be stopped.

I have not heard any partners express doubts about America's ability to ensure that the war ends. The President of the United States has the levers and the determination. Ukraine has supported all of President Trump’s proposals, starting back in February. Ceasefire, all formats have been supported.

What is needed now is not a pause in the killings, but a real, lasting peace. Not a ceasefire sometime in the future, in months, but immediately. President Trump told me so, and I fully support it.
