Nigeria has failed us” is no longer even a complaint. It’s a greeting. A reflex. The automatic response to every hardship, disappointment, or dream that didn’t survive contact with this country’s reality.

And every time I hear it, I think:

“But what have you done?

Become so valuable that your passport becomes a formality, not a fantasy.

Stop consuming content about hustle and start producing results.

Stop explaining why Nigeria is hard and start showing what you are capable of regardless.

And suffering without direction is just a longer, more dramatic version of staying stuck.

You want out?

Build something. Master something. Become someone valuable.

That excellence eventually made a foreign nation come looking for him.

That is your blueprint.

Your country’s dysfunction is real. Your pain is valid.

But pain that never converts into fuel is just suffering.

Not everyone. But most.

Joseph didn’t wait for his brothers to apologize before he became exceptional.

He didn’t wait for the prison system to reform before sharpening his mind.

He worked with brutal focus inside terrible conditions.

That is not faith. That is an excuse wearing the costume of patriotism.

The hard truth is this:

Most people frustrated with Nigeria are also doing the bare minimum with the one thing they actually control.

Themselves.

So stop waiting for it to change before you do.

That is the trap.

The belief that the country has to fix itself before your life can begin. That the government has to work before you can build.

That things must get better before you become better.

The bad leaders. The broken infrastructure. The corruption that recycles itself every election cycle.

None of it is a surprise in the grand design.

Some territories were simply marked for harder seasons.

Africa. Nigeria. This specific patch of earth you were born into.

Not to be harsh. But because that question is the only one that actually matters.

Acts 17:26 says God “determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their lands and territories.”

Meaning the chaos was already accounted for.
