All this happened while humans remained more-or-less in the dark about the scope of the conspiracy.

There were only 2 investigations that ever made any conclusions about who killed JFK: the Warren Commission and the HSCA. (ARRB made no determination either way.)

HSCA concluded JFK was “probably assassinated as the result of a conspiracy”. That’s 50% for conspiracy and 50% for Oswald alone. Thus, the statement below is patently false and should be retracted.

The fact that Politico put an intern on this story shows you what they think about it. Yikes. No offense, @_alibianco. It’s a dense case. But I highly recommend learning some basics about the topic if you are going to write about it.
