As of early 2026, approximately 84,000 U.S. military personnel are stationed in Europe, the troops are stationed on 50 installations. It’s estimated in Germany alone there is over a 3 billion dollar benefit to the local economies from the troops being stationed there. I personally was stationed there and I can tell you most do not want our presence, just our money and the protection our presence affords. So perhaps it’s time to draw down our forces. We don’t need to leave nato we just don’t need to live there
