Autobiography is the culmination of over half a century of education and uncompromising execution by the world’s most dedicated guild of loudspeaker craftspeople. Every element, every curve, and every acoustic decision reflects a journey that began with Wilson Audio’s founder, David A. Wilson, and his earliest experiments into time alignment, resonance control, and emotional connection with music. This loudspeaker does not reference the past as nostalgia. It distills experience into clarity, preserving what matters while advancing what is possible.

[Wilson Audio @WilsonAudio]

At the heart of the Acoustic Diode is our proprietary “V-Material.” This superior constrained layer damping composite is unsurpassed in vibration absorption and resonance control.

Energy from the enclosure migrates into the V-Material where it is faced with the effective damping properties of this efficient material. The mass of the loudspeaker concentrated onto the very small ends of the spike tips results in significant levels of PSI that prevent detrimental vibrations from traveling upward into the footer. Those vibrations that do travel up the spike are absorbed by the mass of the Acoustic Diode and have to travel through the V-Material to have a chance to influence the enclosure.

And their benefits aren’t limited to Wilson Audio loudspeakers. Adapter options have been developed to accommodate other loudspeakers on the market, bringing Acoustic Diode technology to even more audio systems.

"Are you ready?! The historic multi-day event celebrating Acoustic Sounds' 40th anniversary is approaching quickly! The Vinyl Summit & Blues Festival invites music enthusiasts, industry professionals, audiophiles and collectors to experience a rare opportunity to explore the world of analog sound as never before. Hosted by Acoustic Sounds founder Chad Kassem and his team, this event offers unprecedented access to the people, places and culture behind some of the world’s best records.

Acoustic Sounds are bringing back the spirit of the legendary Blues Masters at the Crossroads—but this time, with an even bigger emphasis on the music and the vinyl community!

Free activities throughout the 4-day event include a record fair featuring top independent vendors, a pop-up record store in the Acoustic Sounds office, scheduled tours of our campus — including Quality Record Pressings — and all-night after-concert jam sessions with our musicians as they kick back and get in the groove!

The weekend's concerts feature a sizzling lineup of stellar musical talent — Taj Mahal, legendary, multi-Grammy-winning blues artist, singer-songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist; Mud Morganfield, the eldest son of Muddy Waters, embodying the spirit of Chicago Blues; Jimmie Vaughan, legendary American blues rock guitarist and singer, who co-founded The Fabulous Thunderbirds; powerhouse blues guitarist Bernard Allison, the son of blues legend Luther Allison; and many more!

Throughout the weekend there will also be an equipment demo room featuring components from some of our event sponsors — Pass Laboratories (amplifiers, preamplifiers), Wilson Audio, (loudspeakers and accessories), Rogers Music Systems (loudspeakers), KLAUDiO (record cleaning machine), TechDAS (turntables), AudioQuest (cables and accessories)."

Before every Wilson Audio loudspeaker leaves our factory, it undergoes rigorous quality-control testing to meet our exacting standards.

Here, an Autobiography undergoes final laboratory testing, where we carefully evaluate critical measurements and inspect the entire loudspeaker for any cosmetic imperfections before approving it for shipment.

In a forward firing (FF) configuration, low frequency output in the 10 Hz to 75 Hz region is reduced by approximately 1.0 to 1.5 dB, while output between 75 Hz and 130 Hz increases by 1.5 to 2.0 dB. Switching to a rear firing (RF) configuration gives the inverse response, offering flexibility to accommodate unique room boundaries and overall listener preference.

The Pedestal™ is Wilson Audio’s Special Application Engineering (WASAE) division’s all-new isolation foot. The Pedestal reduces musically destructive vibrations in components with unparalleled efficiency. Its small bottom element partially absorbs vibrations traveling up from the surface beneath the equipment. The damping material inside the Pedestal—“V-Material”—takes vibration reduction a step further. V-Material, along with a proprietary viscous damping material inside the Pedestal, acts as a spring to minimize, absorb, and dissipate the vibrations into heat. Where other manufacturers use low-grade, inexpensive magnetic steel in their isolation pods, the Pedestal uses austenitic (nonmagnetic) stainless steel, which exhibits superior vibration-mitigating characteristics and effectively eliminates undesirable electronic interactions with components caused by magnetizable steel. When weight is applied to the Pedestal, the internal V-Material element, along with other critical components within the housing, decouples from the stainless steel exterior. In the reverse direction, any vibrations from environmental factors or the audio system travel into the top pad of the Pedestal, where they are absorbed. The Pedestal—WASAE’s solution for near-absolute vibration isolation.
